I am struggling with an antenna selection for one of the projects based on nrf52805. It is a wearable design(2 layer flex pcb) so the space is premium.
i have read a gazillion of posts here but still unable to understand:
1/ Is a T shaped network of L1 (2N2), C3(1P2), L2(3N3) in the reference layout is there for an impedance matching? This post for a similar part suggests it is for 'matching radio' (what does it mean? matching what to what?) It also suggests that the 'another' T network should be there - why? If it is already matched to 50 Ohm and antenna is 50 Ohm - why?
2/If those ref design parts are a matching network indeded - what is the output impedance of the NRF52805' ANT pin? If the impedance is known, I could just design an antenna with a matching impedance instead of targeting default 50 Ohm avoiding extra parts.
