I just got a fresh Win install and installed a new version of vs code (details below) and lo and behold the nrf welcome page is empty! Apparently, this was changed a while ago as in the following:
However, I had a running version as of last week and the welcome page worked and, in my case, the welcome screen is blank like:
I admit this may be my ignorance on where to find the new stuff, but your tutorials and documentation did not help.
In any case if there is a new tutorial or documentation on where to find all that stuff such as the SDK version management, example projects etc. please provide it.
Additionally, as a developer these kinds of changes are not desirable

After struggling with the issue for a bit, I decided to use the tool manager and that worked!
I used the NRF Tool manager to install the SDK (2.6.1) and then everything got populated on the welcome screen as expected. This conflicts with the note in the tool manager which recommends installing the extension. In my case installing the extension did not install the sdk, nor could I find an option within VS Code to do so.

I request Nordic to update their documents to make our lives simpler. Please archive stale tutorials and documentation and/or associate them with the appropriate versions.

Goodluck to all!
