nrf5340 BLE FOTA With QSPI flash

Hi

From the past few days, I have been trying to perform FOTA with BLE using external QSPI flash. However, I'm unsure if I'm creating the proper files and adding the correct configuration.
I need to perform simultaneous updates for both cores of the nRF5340. 

This are the configuration i have done

this is the error I am getting right now 




I am new to the nRF controller. Kindly let me know what mistakes I am making. Based on the errors I’m seeing, there seems to be a partition issue. I need to know what configurations are required and where I need to apply them.

Additionally, I need to add a secure bootloader to this, and I would like to know how to do that as well.

Kindly support on this!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,

The mcuboot.overlay must also select the QSPI flash device to enable the bootloader to access the external flash:

/ {
    chosen {
        nordic,pm-ext-flash = &mx25r64;
    };
};

Please try to see if it works after making this change.

Thanks for the replay!!!


I added the to the code to  mcuboot.overlay. 

Additionally i have created empty pm_static.yml file inside the child_image

now this is the error that i am getting.

I recommend you test without the static partition file first. You can add it back later when you are ready to lock down the memory layout. This allows the build system to add any missing partitions. I have changed configuration according to the mcuboot_smp_ble_simultaneous  code 

I am getting FLASH size problem 

Do I need to change something

The linker error indicates that the bootloader (MCUBOOT) is too big to fit into the default flash partition allocated to the bootloader. You can increase the partition size by adding CONFIG_PM_PARTITION_SIZE_MCUBOOT=<new partition size in bytes> (e.g., 0x12000) to your mcuboot kconfig fragment.

I am currently using the toolchain v2.6.1 and SDK v2.6.1 is this requires any specific changes?
