Power Profiler Kit (PPK) II triggering options?

Hello,

I want to use the PPK II in a free-running state in Scope mode, which is the same behavior that most oscilloscopes refer to as Auto triggering, but it appears that the tool only captures data around a rising-edge trigger, as an oscilloscope would in Normal triggering mode.  This is not very useful for some of what I need to do.  Am I missing a setting, or is this really a limitation of the PPK II?  If the latter, any chance that this feature could be added?

Thanks,

Scott

  • Hi Scott,
I don't think we have the Auto mode supported. But I am checking internally to see if we have a plan to add this feature or not. I don't think it's a limitation of the hardware, just need to be implemented on the software.
Could you give some more information about the use case so I can forward it to R&D ?

  • We're using the PPK as an inexpensive way to measure power consumption in our Nordic-based product -- kind of like a current probe but much more sensitive for small currents (sleep currents), and much more cost-effective.
