Modem shell testing for DECT NR+

Hello,

I'm running into an issue with the "modem shell for NR+" application on a pair of nrf9131ek evaluation kits. The local sales rep. suggested that I reach out to Nordic Support.

The modem firmware (mfw-nr+_nrf91x1_1.0.1.zip) and application (mosh-dect-phy-0.7.0-fmac-nrf9131ek.hex) flashed successfully. However, the set auto channel selection & beacon_start commands show as unknown / not found. 

mosh:~$ dect sett -c 0 --b_del_channel 0 --b_ul_channel 0 --b_name sink -s yes
Unknown option. See usage:

beacn_start: subcommand not found

I was able to set the correct DECT band set.

Is there a more updated version of the model shell application that supports these commands? Thanks.

Where did you get the beacn_start function from?

I don't see it in the sample documentation.

Hi Michal,

According to the binaries and modem-shell-dect.pptx by the local sales rep., the model shell testing application for DECT NR+ (mosh-dect-phy-0.7.0-fmac-nrf9131ek.hex) supports these commands. 

The docs and the modem shell for NR+ may still be in beta. I was hoping that you'll be able to provide me with a later application binary for DECT NR+ testing. Thanks.

Our development on this is public, which means that can just build the application yourself from the "main" branch.

There are no special pre-release binaries with bleeding edge features that I have access to.

Hi Michal,

Thanks. It looks like that the DECT shell sample is the same as what I'm running. It also doesn't have the  "beacon_start" and "beacon_scan" commands. Probably from an earlier version.

I tried to build the deck_shell sample but got a few errors to do with "nrf_modem_dect_phy_callbacks". It looks like I need the upcoming nRF Connect SDK 2.8.0. I'll give v2.8.0-rc1 a go.

btw - I was able to build and run successfully the "hello_dect" sample on a pair of nRF9131-EK devices.

Sorry for the delay, I was out of office unfortunately.

In the hex file that you've got, your commands were incorrect, here are the fixed ones:

dect fmac sett -c 0 --b_dl_channel 0 --b_ul_channel 0 --b_name mosh_sink -s yes

dect fmac beacon_start

Also, the "mac" subcommand is coming soon to the official release:
