nRF Connect for Desktop Bluetooth Low Energy fails

Hello,

after a longer time, I wanted to use nRF Connect for Desktop again, to figure out what exactly my device under development is advertising. I upgraded to the latest version of nRF Connect for Desktop Bluetooth Low Energy (v4.0.4), which fails with the following message <Failed to get the library versions: JLINKARM_DLL_COULD_NOT_BE_OPENED>, when trying to run it:

2024-11-21T15:01:21.177Z DEBUG Application data folder: /Users/todi/Library/Application Support/nrfconnect-bluetooth-low-energy/bundle

I've upgraded to the lastet Segger Jlink software (V8.10h). nrfjprog can see both attached JLinks (one actual and an nrf52 eval board).

Any idea, how to fix that?

OS: MacOS 15.1.1

best regards

Torsten

  • Hello,

It says you are using pc-nrfconnect-ble v4.0.4 official, while I see that I have installed a version called "official, v4.0.4-patch1":

Although it doesn't print the version in the log when I open it. Can you check if there are any updates available, and if so, try to update the nRF Connect for Desktop Bluetooth Low Energy Standalone app? Under the nRF Connect for Desktop, there is a settings tab, where you can click Check for Updates:

Can you do that, and make sure that you have the latest version installed?

    Best regards,

    Edvin

  • Hi Edvin,

in nRF Connect for Desktop it also says on my side, that "official, v4.0.4-patch1" is installed, while nRF Connect for Desktop Bluetooth Low Energy says, it is version v4.0.4.
