Does nrf connect for desktop support coded phy?

I tested with an nRF52840 dongle, but it seems that nRF Connect for Desktop cannot scan long-range/coded PHY advertisements.

(I used this BLE long range peripheral demo)

I found a thread about this issue, but it was from 4 years ago.

Hi Jason,

The peripheral example that you tested uses the nRF 5 SDK, which is the older SDK and is in maintenance mode (i.e., no new features would be added and all the newer devices are not supported there)..

The thread was a bit older and the nRF Connect SDK supports Coded PHY. The sample that I have pointed you to is the one in nRF Connect SDK (the newer SDK) which uses Coded PHY.

I am sorry, but I think there might be a misunderstanding of my question. 'nRF Connect for Desktop' is a desktop application for BLE connectivity testing.

It can use the nRF52840 dongle to scan for BLE devices.

What I want to know is whether this desktop application is capable of scanning and connecting to BLE peripherals using Coded PHY.

Hi,

Unfortunately, the BLE app in 'nRF Connect for Desktop' does not support Coded PHY.

Alternative: For testing with Coded PHY, use a phone that supports it and use the nRF Connect for Mobile app: https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/Development-tools/nRF-Connect-for-mobile
