Device shows up in Nrf Connect for Mobile app but not in the Nrf Connect Device Manager app

I am trying to do an OTA update of the firmware on my device. I am using Nrf Connect SDK 2.1. I followed some of the tutorials and setup the device to advertise the SMP UUID.

Using the Nrf Connect Mobile app I can see the device after the scan as below. The SMP UUID is observed. However when I use the Device Manager App I don't see the device even if I untick "Only devices advertising SMP UUID". Yet I do see other devices getting picked up. What configuration is causing this difference between the two apps.

Hi the screen shot is the device appearing in the Nrf Connect Mobile App (4.29.0)

The same device does not appear on the Nrf  Connect Device Manager (2.2.2)

Which device do you use? Is it a custom board with nRF5340?

yes it is a custom board. Is there a minimum rf signal level limit on the Device Manager App?

Can you try unchecking both options as shown below?


Your problem might also be related to isNoise(). You can read the comment for isNoise() for more information.

Yes I have unticked both.

Looks like its is the <80db noise threshold because if you look at the screenshot the RSSI is -84db. This is why it is not appearing in the Manager App.

I did find that if i connect using the nrf connect app that the device will be in the list of "saved" in the device manager app.
From which point you can update.
