nrf52811 custom board - example code

Hi All,

I have designed my custom pcb board for nrf52811. With the Jlink the IC is detected in visual studio code also it gets programmed. But i did not see its working when i use basic bluetooth application (becon), uart etc. kindly help on this , if there is hex file which i can directly flash into my board for confirming Bluetooth operation working. This is very urgent for us to get it done before CES2025.

Hello Ashok,

Please have a look at this thread:  nrf connect sd which I think may be relevant to your case. Does your board include the optional 32K crystal? If not, it's important that you change the LF clock source to use the internal RC oscillator by adding this line: "CONFIG_CLOCK_CONTROL_NRF_K32SRC_RC=y" to your project configuration file (prj.conf). Otherwise, the program will enter an endless loop on startup waiting for the crystal oscillator to ramp up.

Thank you! I will try these things i have installed 32K crystal as well , unfortunate now the chip is not detecting itself.

Is there way to identify chip is dead/good in condition?

Sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean. Could you please clarify? Is it that you are not able to connect to it via the debugger?

Troubleshooting is required to find out why a chip is not working.

yes , not able to connect the chip, it happened after flashing the led example with CONFIG_CLOCK_CONTROL_NRF_K32SRC_RC=y

Does your board include the optional inductors for the DCDC regulator?

XRES, pull-up was missing and added now. DNI components were not placed.

To use the DCDC regulator you need both inductors shown here: https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ps_nrf52811/page/ref_circuitry.html#ariaid-title3

Problem is that the DK board enables DCDC by default and the regulator will not be able to provide a stable supply to the chip without these, which will lead to problems when you try to re-program the chip again. 

Which SDK version are you using?
