Verizon certification FOTA testing support

Hello,
We are currently trying to certify our nrf9161 gateway device and we need some direction on the best way to get through FOTA testing. From what I understand, it is best to use Verizon's client to test FOTA since there will be less things to validate than using our own system. When I tried to set up the "ThingSpace Software Management Services" through Verizon, I got an error message to contact our Verizon account representative. I reached out to our current certification contact at Verizon about this and was told to reach out to our module OEM to set up testing through the "Nokia Motive Bridge server". I cannot find a way to access this and I cannot find any useful information on it. Do I need someone at Nordic to provide access to it?
How do your customers normally handle FOTA testing through Verizon? I verified that the http_update/modem_full_update sample application works on our board. I just need to connect all of the dots here for firmware updates to be initiated using Verizon's stuff. After getting our device certified, we would handle our own application updates via our private server.

  • Hi,

Thanks for reaching us about your questions.

Unfortunately, we do not have control on such "Nokia Motive Bridge server". Our general FOTA solution is provided by nRF Cloud. The question is quite specfic to Verizon in US, let me check with out local FAE and certfication expert first.

I will give you one update once I get some clue.

    Best regards,

    Charlie
