nPM1300 VDDIO pin - power input or power output?

This sounds like a stupid question... but I would like to clarify if this pin is an input or output. I think it's power in but want to make 100% sure as I'm spinning a PCB.

The reference schematic shows just some decoupling caps and pullups to SDA/SCL, no other connections, which suggests it's an output.

But the datasheet text says link to VOUT which suggests it's an input.

The pin description just says "POWER".

Can you clarify please?

VDD_GPIO is an input to the nPM1300 so set the GPIO levels of the device to the same as the host CPU.

You might want to clarify your example/reference schematics as it's a little bit ambiguous. For example as a comparison some other devices such as FTDI USB bridges provide a logic LDO output which can optionally power the GPIO logic, this is what the schematic above looks like (to me anyway).
