NPM1300 Vout

Hi Sir

The npm1300 allows setting the default voltage using resistor values as shown in the table below. However, if I want to set the voltage to 1.05 V using resistors, is this feasible? Is there a formula available to calculate the corresponding resistor values?

  • Hi, Sky.

It is at least possible to set the output voltage to different values, using register BUCK1NORMVOUT.

However, if I want to set the voltage to 1.05 V using resistors, is this feasible? Is there a formula available to calculate the corresponding resistor values?

I've asked about this internally and will get back to you when I receive an answer.

    Best regards,
    Mathias

  • I've already received an answer to this:

"No, it is not possible. The 8 values in the table are the only ones that can be selected for startup.

There is no formula to give a voltage, it is a discrete setting. If the user sets a resistor value in the middle between two recommended values, it will end up with either one or the other voltage selected, not an intermediary voltage.

E.g., if the user uses a 125 kOhms resistor, the nPM1300 will select either 2.5 V or 2.7 V, depending on the tolerance of the 125 k resistor and internal process variations on the IC.

It is not recommended at all to put a resistor with a value different from the listed values in the table."
