nrf connect extension for vscode DT Visual editor stopped working

Hi,

I just updated my vsCode extension and the visual devicetree editor stopped working

I can compile just fine but changing the DT will prove difficult from now on.

    1. It looks like the board does not have SOC or CPU nodes. Can you confirm these exist?
    2. Does the .dts file include any .dtsi files? If so, could you share the paths where the .dtsi paths are relative to the SDK and application?

    Just to confirm, are you seeing this issue for this application only or is this a global issue?

  • I can confirm this is a global issue as its also present after i compiled the adc-sample from zephyr.

  • Have you tested a Nordic sample on a Nordic DK?
    Can you confirm that your custom board is located in /boards/{arch}/{board_name}? Also, could you clarify what the {arch} folder is?

    In the case below, the parent folder of the board is arm. This tells the devicetree to load the arm include path from the SDK.





  • yes i tested the zephyr-adc-sample with a buildconfiguration using the nrf52840DK-Board and the corresponding .overlay-file suggested when i click the dropdown.

    The /boards-folder used is in the project-directory with the following scheme:

    once again everything blanked is the customername.

    i also defined another board root for other projects:
    C:/my_boards

    so my arch is also arm.

    Before updating my extension it worked more or less flawlessly. I had the issue that the visual DT did not update according to my textual representation, but i could live with that.
