Supplying VIOREF on nRF7002DK

I am using the nRF7002DK with the nRF5340 SoC. By default the board runs at 1.8 V until I provide 3.3 V on VIOREF. Currently, I am using another board just to drive VIOREF high, but I would like to avoid that.

My questions are:

1. Is it safe to connect the VIN (3–5 V) pin to VIOREF if I supply 3.3 V to VIN?

2. If not, what is the recommended way to raise VIOREF to 3.3 V directly on the DK, without using an external board? (e.g. jumper, solder bridge, or shorting VIOREF to the DK’s own 3.3 V rail)

It depends on what you need to implement.. It is possible to do the connection as you've stated, but you cannot use QSPI on the said voltage range. The QSPI on nRF5340 needs VDD voltage between 1.7 V and 2.0 V.
