Unusually high power draw for npm1304

I'm trying to test the overall pwoer consumption of my setup (nPM1034EK and nRF54l15DK) using the PPK2.  As I've started this, I've gotten far higher numbers that I expected based on the documentation available.  I'm still working through optimizing the firmware (a different issue), so I disconnected the nRF54l15 completely.  I've set the jumpers and switches to the defaults per Jumpers and switches, disconnected the battery, and there's no USB connected to J4.  The PPK2 GND is connected to P2 GND and the PPK2 VOUT is connected to P2 VBUS on the EK.   The measurement is set up per Measure VBUS current, but the DK is disconnected and so the buck 2 pins are unused, as mentioned.  In PowerUP I have turned everything (Bucks, LDOs, etc.) off.  Running the PPK2 with this setup gives me the following output:

As you can see, the average current is 2.0mA.  I was expecting it to be much more like 4-8µA, based on information on Product overview and nPM1304 PMIC - nordicsemi.com.  What am I doing wrong?

Hello, 

The overall quiescent current with both bucks active should be <1uA, so something is clearly off. Do you have a picture of the setup you have? 

If you just plug in the USB for the nPM Controller (no need to turn on nPM PowerUP) and activate the VBAT supply, what current do you get?

No problem.  Here's a picture of the npm1304 configured for the VBUS measurement that has been giving me current in the milliamps:

Configured for VBAT measurement, it's much more like what I'd expect:

I didn't turn any loads off in PowerUP for the VBAT measurement, but obviously nothing is connected to any of the pins and the active load is off.
Have I done anything wrong with the VBUS measurement?  Why is the VBAT correct but VBUS not?

Sorry I read wrong the original message. I thought you had 2mA battery current, but it is actually VBUS current. So yes that is normal. You can get the current down to 1.8mA if you set the VBUSSUSPEND register:
