nRF Connect Programmer can’t detect J-Link emulator (“No emulator with connection info” error)

I’m having trouble connecting to my nRF5340 dk using nRF Connect for Desktop (Programmer app). When I select the device, I get repeated errors like:

Details:

• nrfutil-device version: 2.6.4

• nrf-device-lib version: 0.17.35

• nrfjprog DLL version: 10.24.2

• J-Link version: V7.94i

• Device serial number: 001050032869

• The issue occurs when trying to read device info or program firmware.

• The J-Link does not appear when I run nrfjprog --ids either.

• I’ve tried multiple USB cables and ports, reinstalled J-Link drivers, and restarted nRF Connect with no luck.

It seems like the on-board debugger (J-Link) may have stopped enumerating over USB.

Hi,

 

Is there any activity on the green LED next to the USB-connector? Is it blinking, or a solid green colour?

I’ve tried multiple USB cables and ports, reinstalled J-Link drivers, and restarted nRF Connect with no luck.

Have you tried the same DK on multiple PCs, or tried the same USB cable on a confirmed working DK?

Hi,

The led is solid green and the other 4 leds are looping through their flashing pattern.

i have 2 other 5340dk boards that all work perfectly fine so nothing to do with the pc or or usb cable

This is good. This indicates that the debugger itself is enumerated.

Could you try to use either nrfjprog:

nrfjprog --recover -f nrf53

 

or nrfutil:

nrfutil install device && nrfutil device recover

 

And see if this helps?

Is this a newer computer?

Could you re-install jlink and ensure that the box mentioned in this thread is checked?

 J-Link legacy USB driver required on Windows for some DK boards

Just to be clear I have 4 nrf5340 dks which all work perfectly fine on my computer. 
I have also bought one other with a similar fault where there has been a fault with the programmer out the box. 
I want confirmation that it is broken so that I can get a return booked through mouser.
