OTA IMPLEMENTATION FOR NRF52832 WITH EXTERNAL FLASH

Hello Team,

I am using a custom nRF52832 board with nRF5 SDK 15 for firmware development.

I am planning to implement OTA Device Firmware Update (DFU) using an external SPI flash to store the downloaded firmware image before performing the update.

Could you please share any sample code, reference project, application note, or documentation that demonstrates OTA/DFU implementation with external flash on the nRF52832 using SDK 15? Any guidance on the bootloader configuration or integration would also be very helpful.

Hi,

As Turbo J mentions, I recommend you to look into using nRF Connect SDK instead. There are options there that could meet your memory + external flash requirement, as well as there are larger devices that might help you ommitt using an external flash for OTA.

Reach out to your regional sales manager to discuss options. If there are no other options for your product, note that nRF5 SDK is in maintenance mode, and nRF5 SDK 17 is the latest of those. To repeat. We strongly recommend to use nRF Connect SDK.
