Power Consumption of Channel Sounding

Hi Riki,

Unfortunately I do not think we have data about this available. One reason might be because the consumption would depend on multiple factors. Even if you set up CS the way you want using our SDK, I assume you might want to change out the CS algorithm we provide in the SDK, and that change might also make an impact. 

With that said, I do have the impression that the consumption on the reflector side is minimal, and on the initiatior side it is similar to other BLE traffic for the period it is in use. This means that you can have a look at the online power profiler to get an estimate too. For more accurate numbers though, using the PPK2 on with your specifications and hardware would be best.

If you want, I can do this myself, and try to use the PPK2 with two of our 54L15 DKs running our completely default CS samples, and give you the numbers they provide? (note that we do have offerings with even lower consumption though).

The initiator also acknowledged that the power consumption was as shown in the screenshot.

→If it's not too much trouble, could you please help me out? I don't have a PPK2, so I'd like to know the actual measurements.

This is from the initiatior running the CS samples, during which it continously gets results:

It was a bit higher than I thought in the reflector, though considering that radio usage is what costs the most, which the sample is using continuously, it does make some sense. When radio is not in use, the reflector is able to save more power. 

I get that this doesn't necessarily show what current consumption you might get in a realistic scenario, but does this help answer some of your questions?
