nRF93M1 and nRF Connect

So now I have the firmware revision mfw_nrf93m1_1.5.0, updated from 1.4.1 through FOTA. Meanwhile, I tried nRF Connect on nRF93M1 and I have some questions.

1. Most of cellular monitor features seems not supported in nRF93M1. When I use nRF9151, I can see current modem status variables are visible and the trace function is working. Do you have expected timeline when nRF93M1 will be supported in Cellular Monitor, especially traces?

2. Is there a timeline planned for Quick Start support on nRF93M1 DK?

3. I tried to use nRF Cloud Location through AT command (AT%NRFCLOUDLOCATION) but it seems that the authentication is failing. Do I need to provision something? This is the error log.

AT%NRFCLOUDLOCATION=3,1
%COAP: RESOLVING coap.nrfcloud.com (IPv6)...
%COAP: IPv6: 2600:1f18:56ff:3d02:0000:0000:0000:ffc5, PORT: 5684
%COAP: CONNECTING ...
%COAP: DTLS_STATE,4
%COAP: SENDING_AUTH
%COAP: RESPONSE,4.01
%COAP: AUTH_ERROR,BAD_RESPONSE_4.01
%COAP: EVENT,0x0000,DTLS_CLOSED
ERROR

Regardless of location methods, it always gives the same error.

Edit: my bad, the device was not provisioned in the nRF Cloud. This was documented.

  • Hi Shinjo Park,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Currently, this is still being worked with and unfortunately, I cannot discuss the timeline for it on DevZone. You can reach out to your RSM for any questions about roadmap or timeline. I would recommend you to follow up on the release notes for future versions of Quick Start and Cellular Monitor. If you would like me to follow up on this internally and inform you when I get updates on it, let me know.

    Best Regards,

    Samruddhi
