Could you let me know which chip you are using ?
When switching to 250kbps, you would need to increase the timeslot period.
Also when sending with 250kbps, you actually may have more interference (from wifi for example) since the packet take longer time to be transmitted. I would suggest to test on different environments
I'm using the cRF51422_xxAC. Can you recommend the value of the time slot when we using the 250 kbps. Thanks

You can try to change the timeslot period to 2700us, as suggested in the nrf_gzll.h file.
Sorry, the device is cRF51822 not the cRF51422.
Any formula to calculate the parameter of the setting in the cRF51822 if we increase the payload.
@Steven: It's the same for nRF51822 and nRF51422 . I believe the timeslot 2700us is applied for the maximum payload of 32bytes.
