Is it possible to perform nrfjprog --recover using gdb?

For a device that has APPROTECT enabled, it is required to use nrfjprog --recover to re-enable access.

What is the mechanism that nrfjprog uses to perform the --recover command? Can it be implemented with accesses using gdb using hardware like the Black Magic Probe (github.com/.../wiki)

Have you searched the forum and read previous answers like this and this? There are more links in the answers which might help you to implement similar procedure in OpenOCD or SEGGER J-Link. GDB is not SWD flasher as far as I understand.

Looking through the datasheet (PS) it looks like access to the CTRL-AP is necessary to perform the ERASEALL command. I can't find an address offset for the CTRL-AP register access though.
