Help for a voltage regulator

Hello,

I need a voltage regulator to power a microphone at 1.3V from a 3V coin cell battery and I was looking for a regulator like the lm317, but with this one the minimum output voltage is 2.5V+input voltage, so it's not suitable for my application. Do you know other voltage regulatorthat fits with this?

Thank You

  • You could look at LP5951, but pay attention to the Vdo (the dropout voltage). But then the power dissipated is (Vin-Vout)*(Iout) which would be (3-1.3)*Iout which would be dependent on the microphone current consumption. There is quiescent current of 30nA which would be the constant drain due to this part. Or you could use a DCDC converter like the MAX1556/7 which would be more efficient when operating the microphone but has a higher quiescent and shutdown current. You should do the average battery consumption calculations for both scenarios (LDO vs DCDC) over the lifetime of the battery (as its voltage drops from 3V) to decide

  • Thank you for the reply. Is this available only in smd package? I was looking for a tht one.
