Qualification of nRF52832

Hi all,

We are ready to have our product released and need to have it tested and certified for release in the following markets:

  • North America = FCC IC
  • Europe = EC
  • Japan = Telec

and have it bluetooth certified so we can have the symbol.

We based our board off of the reference designs and now I am wondering if there are any certs that Nordic has that we can piggy pack off of or do we have to start from ground zero.

And where can I find assistance on getting this process done?

Cheers

  • Hi @Jay Tyzzer, @Hung Bui, The test to ETSI EN 300 328 is still version 1.9.1 and not the latest v2.1.1. Do you have a test report for the latest version v2.1.1 for the NRF52832-QFAA chipset?

Also, after we get the relevant approvals CE (Europe) and FCC (US), do we still have to our product using the NRF52832-QFAA chip bluetooth certified even though we don't use the Bluetooth protocol but just operate in the same frequency band of 2.4GHz?

  • Hi Bellpayla,

Last item first.. If you don't plan on running the nRF52832 with the Softdevice in Bluetooth LE  then you do not need to do any kind of BT certification / End Product Listing with the BT Sig.

As you probably know, each customer needs to do the RED testing on their own.. We have done this on our reference board to be sure it will pass.  See attached ...

The purpose of this report is to illustrate the test results for ETSI Receiver Blocking defined in ETSI EN 300 328 V2.1.1 (2016-11). The tests are executed in Nordic Semiconductor Test&Verification characterization laboratory in Trondheim and can only be used as an engineering evidence which is not meant to replace any ETSI conformance testing.
