Nrf51822 is not starting to run code when powered off and powered on after flash download

We are working on Nrf51822 chipset and have observed in our case that once we download the code we are able to discover the device but after we power off and power on we do not see the device anymore. Does the power on/off make the chip run from the code from startup or a special reset is required to start running the code from start up? From the reference design nRf RST associated with SWDIO which we do not have in our design.. Is this part necessary for code to start running once powered on/off?

i am having the same problem and i cant figure out why.. altho when i ommit a certain part of my code that doesnt happen anymore but i still dont know why.
