nan_40 v1.1 - solder paste

Hi Support team,

In this application note, solder paste type 4 has 25 to 45 micron particle size range while IPC J-STD-005 as attached stated type 4 has 80% Minimum between 20-38 and type 3 between 25 - 45.  Please clarify.

I consulted with our expert on the matter, there is indeed an incorrect type/size ratio in the document. It seems like the value was taken from an inconsistent datasheet. I will report it and have it fixed.

 

Still, but if keeping to the 20-38 microns type 4 it should be fine. Smaller is also fine, we commonly use type 5 in our lab due to requirements for other components.
