Trying to connect LIS3DH with nrf51822.

Hello everyone, 

I am totally new on bluetooth configuration. I have LIS3DH accelerometer from adafruit. and i have nrf51822 bluetooth beacon kit with me. I want to connect the sensor to the bluetooth and read the output from the sensor via bluetooth into a PC. My PC has bluetooth connection. I am really not sure which software to use to connect this two and how to connect. I read few troubleshoot on this, but i am not getting into it. People are writing codes for it and i really don't know which IDE they have use to write for configuring these two. 

Can anyone help me on this?

Hi Sdh,

 I would recommend checking out this Getting Started Thread.

For communicating with your PC, I would recommend using a Bluetooth dongle and then you can use nRF Connect for Desktop.

When developing you can also test your application against the nRF Connect application for smartphones.

 

Regarding your application, you can for example start with the "ble_app_uart" example then add the TWI functionality since you most likely are going to connect to your sensor with I2C/TWI.

You can read out the sensor data with the help of "TWI sensor example" as reference, then send the data over BLE to your computer via the Nordic UART service, which is used in the "ble_app_uart" example.

I would recommend checking out this thread since it has a quite similar theme.

Hi,

i have created uart service and was able to receive lis3dh xyz data in the characterisitc i created when i used gatt connection. Now i want to get the same xyz values but in non conncetable advertising mode. i have nrf52832/nrf52840 , lis3dh accelerometer I2C/TWI interface
