NRF Connect BLE_HCI_CONNECTION_TIMEOUT error with SoftDevice 6.1.0

I get a BLE_HCI_CONNECTION_TIMEOUT error when I use NRF connect to connect to my dev board only when my dev board is using SD 6.1.0.

Once I get the error I have to reset my dev board for it to start advertising again even though the dev board reports that it is disconnected.

If I load the 6.0.0 SoftDevice I do not have this problem.

I checked the lifetime of by BLE related data and everything is static so I don't think that's the problem.

Please see the note in SDK 15.1.0 release notes:

Note: Due to compatibility issues, you must run the upgrade using nRF Connect Desktop v2.5.0 or later when testing the Bluetooth examples in nRF5 SDK v15.1.0.

You can find nRF Connect v2.5.0 on this page if you are not able to update inside the application. I will also request that the latest version is made available on our product page.
