Is it necessary to add a ceramic filter on NRF52832 antenna port for bluetooth certification(BQB)

we are using NRF52832 for a project  design, I am a bit of  afraid of BQB certification,  I think  add a such like Johanson 2450FM070029 ceramic filter in front of antenna, ( PCB antenna) . it should  have   a big improving on the harmonics and suppression of  RF interference . but seems nobody to do so. any suggestion?

  • Hi,

If you plan to use the higher output power settings of the radio you will need some sort of harmonic filtering to pass teleregulatory tests. This can be 2450FM070029, or it can be the L1+C3 combination in the reference design. You do not need both. If you plan to use lower output power settings, < ~-12 dBm you might be able to squeeze by without it. If you are afreaid to fail we can do a pre-scan for you and tune L1+C3 if needed.
