j-Link Server cannot connect to target nRF51822

Hi all,

I'm trying to follow this Nordic blog post in order to use Luna Eclipse, GDB and J-link for debugging of ble_app_hrs from Nordic SDK 6.1 on a PCA10001

It is going well, I can compile, and Eclipse can check syntax etc. However, debugging via GDB and J-link GDB Server does not work. I have isolated the error to also exist when starting the J-link GDB Server manually (outside Eclipse). It comes with the following error:

Other Observations:

• When J-link GDB Server is attempting to connect, the "SEGGER" LED03 is blinking briefly

• J-Link Commander can connect (it seems)

• nRFGo Studio can read and write images

• Command line flash write via nrfjprog works as expected

• blinky_example project works on the board

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi,the JTAG debug interface is not available on the nRF51 so you need to use SWD. See chapter 11 in nRF51 RM for more details.
