Hi,
I need to be able to count the number of packet Tx and Rx from one board to another in order to compute a packet loss ratio for certification purpose.
To achieve this, I started by slightly modify the DTM example of the nRF52 14.2.0 SDK. I use Keil µVision IDE (on Windows 10 64bits) to build the firmware, and then I used a modified version of the DTM python script example from nAN34 to test it.
I tried it with two PCA10056 and got mitigated results.
With the default settings, if the boards are next to each other (less than 5cm apart), I don't lose any packets, but when I slightly increase the distance between the boards (even less than 1 meter), I start losing packets.
Then, I tried the same experimentation with the plain “transmitter” and “receiver” firmware from the peripheral/radio example, and got the same results.
So my question is, is it normal to have packet loss with such a small distance between two boards ? If not, what could be the reason ?
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Mehdi
