Create new project with nRF9160-DK, create new project to a self designed circuit

Hello,

I'm new in IOT field and in firmware developping area on Nordic SIPs, microcontrollers, but I'm experience in firmware developping area on STM32 microcontrollers. I'm a little bit confused, because I did the first steps with nRF9160-DK, and I got the demos, which very nice, but nowhere found any helps how to create a fully new project, and information about creating project to a self designed board. I didn't found information about how to import libraries, how to generate any pin configuration, or initialization, how can I set the values of registers.

I installed nRF Connect on Windows 10 and I did all the steps in Getting Started Assistant, tried the demos. I would like to develop on this SIP but never get any information about help.

I read the documentations about  nRF9160-DK, which describe the SIP very nice, and it's registers too, but where I can set values of those registers?

I think that those way that save an existing demo and modify it is a very primitive and weak solution, and restricted .

Can You help me?

• How to build via command line
• How you can set up your own simple sample
• nRF9160 Objective Product specification
• nRF9160 DK User Guide

You could also check out the simple samples in this branch.

It is recommended to start with a simple sample and build upon, however you can start from scratch if you prefer that (just look at how other samples are build).
