nRF52840 DK using CODED_PHY Crashes SDK nRF5_SDK_15.2.0_9412b96

I have modified the Blinky example in the SDK to support CODED_PHY as per the examples I have seen but am unable to get it to run.  The modified main.c is attached

It seems to crash at this line

err_code = sd_ble_gap_adv_set_configure(&m_adv_handle, &m_adv_data, &adv_params);

I guess I have missed something simple but dont seem to get much in the way of debug output to investigate as it just  crashes with a "Fatal error" any help appreciated.

  • I have now been introduced to getting DEBUG output by adding

    #define DEBUG 1

    to the sdk_config file am receiving

    <error> app: ERROR 16 [NRF_ERROR_INVALID_ADDR] at :0
    PC at: 0x00000000
    <error> app: End of error report

    It seems to say its a pointer issue. This is the vanilla SDK code with these changes

    #define RADIO_TX_POWER 8

    advdata.include_appearance = false;

    adv_params.primary_phy = BLE_GAP_PHY_CODED;
    adv_params.secondary_phy = BLE_GAP_PHY_CODED;

    adv_params.properties.type = BLE_GAP_ADV_TYPE_EXTENDED_NONCONNECTABLE_SCANNABLE_DIRECTED;
