Unable to set up nRF52840-DK

Hi I purchased nRF52840-DK board recently. I'm able to connect it to Mac OS Mojave and I see that the LED5 is blinking every second. However none of the LED1-4 are blinking and I'm not sure what to do here. I followed the steps listed out here - https://www.nordicsemi.com/Software-and-Tools/Development-Kits/nRF52-DK/Getting-Started

and I downloaded the latest firmware and drag-dropped the hex file into the JLINK drive that I see in the file explorer but it didn't work.

Can you please help me?

Thanks, Raghav

  • Hi Raghav

I see that you linked to the nRF52832 DK Getting started guide, so you might have downloaded the wrong firmware. Please follow the steps for the nRF52840 DK and see if you're able to go through with it. If step 5 (Use the buttons SW1 to SW4 to control which LED is pulsating) fails, click here to download version 1.1.0 firmware, and continue from step 7 to program the new firmware into your nRF52840 DK.

If you still aren't able to get it working, we have a lot of tutorials over at our YouTube channel if you are new to the Nordic development environment.

    Best of luck and regards,

    Simon

  • Hi Simon,

I tried flashing the board by getting into the BOOTLOADER mode by holding down the IF BOOT/RESET button while powering on the board. Now I'm stuck in this mode and unable to get out. If I turn off the board and power it back on without holding any button, the LED5 doesn't light up and nothing shows up in the file explorer. How do I get out of the BOOTLOADER mode?
