Not connecting to nRFCloud

Hi, we have an nRF9160DK (0.8.3) and it does not connect to the nrfcloud.

We have updated to the latest firmware 1.0.0

We only have nb-iot here so we didn't use the iBasis sim, instead using a vodafone V-Sim (which is active).

Are we missing a step here?

Hi. The "http" commands should be run in the command line after installing httpie. <device ID> should be replaced with the device ID you get from the first command. However, if your device is not registered…

You would need to create an EC2 Instance and then edit the options to request an elastic IP for that instance. Information on how to set-up EC2 Instances and elastic IPs should be in the AWS documentation…

Hi Ian,

It looks like Vodafone in Ireland requires you to set the APN with username and password.

So in that regard, please try to set the APN while the Modem is Offline with the commands:

AT+CGDCONT=0,"IP","ciot.vodafone.com" AT+CGAUTH=0,"PAP","vodafone","vodafone"

and then turn on the modem. Please wait at least 5 minutes to see if you get an attachment with the network.

If you get connected to the network you can save the network information for faster connection next time by turning the modem OFF (AT+CFUN=0).

Then this settings will be stored in the modem flash.

Hi Martin, OK I think we connected

Can you look at the log to verify?

Do we have to send AT=CFUN? to update the screen?

I saved the settings, but are they permanent if we re-program the device with the asset_tracker?

Also where is the asset_tracker code located (rather than re-program each time) and the prj.conf file?
