Add LTE Device takes too long

Dear Nordic Support,

I just got my Thingy:91 and I followed your Getting started guide. I registered the SIM card successfully but whenever I reached this step, it always tells me to keep waiting.

I leave in Vietnam. Can you help me with this issue?

Thank you and best regards,

  • Hello anh Hung,

Where do you locate ? Sai gon ?

=> Yes, I am testing in Sai Gon

I assume that you were using the iBasis SIM card that included in the Thingy91 Kit ?

=> Yes, i am using the iBasis SIM and it was my mistake to check the wrong section of the iBasis website. Thank you for guiding me to the right section.

I think you would need to find a local 5G SIM to test.
As far as I know Viettel started to support NB-IOT in Vietnam. You may want to contact them to get a test SIM card. But I heard that they have very little coverage.

=> We haven't got the 5G SIM yet. I heard that the normal SIM card is OK but you have to sit very very near the station.

Also thanks again for your information. Too bad that I cannot play around with the nRF91 in Vietnam. Do you have any suggestions about playing with it for now?

    Thank you and best regards,
