Problem adding Thingy:91 in the nRF Cloud

Hello,

I try to add a Thingy:91 to the nRF Cloud after I received it today. The sim card got's activated without a problem. When I try to key in my IMEI and the Pin which is printed on the label I receive this error: "There was an error adding your device. It wasn't found. Is it connected?"

How to solve this and add the device to my account?

    Can you confirm that the Thingy:91 is on and the LED is blue and blinking.

    I think it is more like a blue-withe breathing in a two seconds on and around 5 seconds off interval. 

  • Mine blinks for under a second with 2 seconds off interval. Have you put the sim card in the sim card holder?

  • Sim-Card is in the sim card holder, device is turned on for at least 5 minutes and only breathes in the above described  interval.

    But look for yourself:

    Sorry for these question but just to double check:

    You are sure you put in the corret IMEI number and PIN number (six digits)?

    And you have not flashed any other code to the Thingy?

  • After I received it I put in a usb cable, cause I thought I might have to charge the battery before I have to time to set the device up. But I didn't flashed anything to it.

    I tried to add the device around 5 times. I'm pretty sure that I can't put it in wrong 5 out of 5 times Smiley

    Is the cloud connection mandatory to use the device?
