SEGGER EMBEDDED STUDIO, ERROR offsets.c.obj

Hi!

I'm currently setting up the nRF9160 dev kit for development and are having some trouble with "building" the asset tracking application.

Any clues on what can cause this error message?

I'm using master branch.

Hi, David!

I don't know for sure what's causing the issue, but you could try some things:

1. Check your west version, it should be at least 6.0.0 as far as I know.

2. Run west update. Forgetting this after changing branch within for example the nrf folder will lead to errors.

Hmm. Ok!

You followed the getting started assistant closely?

Could you also try to run west build -b nrf9160_pca10090ns  inside the asset_tracker directory(where prj.conf is located)? Just want to check if that yields the same results.

I have followed the "started assistant" closely, several times.

Now, when I try to open a nrf project with Segger embedded studio.

File -> Open nRF Connect SDK Project

I get this error message, below.

If I now close "SEGGER EMBEDDED STUDIO" and open with "File -> Open nRF Connect SDK Project", then SEGGER Embedded Studio is ready to use, as it loads the project correctly, but will not build as previously stated.

I see. Could you try to just delete the build directory altogether and try again(first with the command I gave you)? It seems like there may be an issue there

Ah. Forgot that part. Delete the build directory again, then write:
export ZEPHYR_TOOLCHAIN_VARIANT=gnuarmemb
then
export GNUARMEMB_TOOLCHAIN_PATH="<path_to_gnuarmemb_directory>\gnuarmemb"

Then try again.

Because Im running windows, I had to use "SET" instead of "export"

Ah. Sorry! 

Anyway, when I wrote <path_to_gnuarmemb_directory> I meant that you must put the path to the gnuarmemb directory that you have on your system. Sorry for being unclear
