Certification/Evaluation for product

Hi,

Our product uses Fanstel BM832 chip. As per https://www.bluetooth.com/develop-with-bluetooth/qualification-listing/qualification-listing-fees/, should we opt for Innovation Incentive Program (IIP) as a startup? I did not understand exactly what certifications/qualifications should our product have coz we are using your software stack. What happens if bluetooth trademark logos are not used? Since your chip is qualified, do we need to follow the qualification process?

Do we first need to apply for membership? - https://www.bluetooth.com/develop-with-bluetooth/join/membership-benefits/

then also pay for listing fee? - https://www.bluetooth.com/develop-with-bluetooth/qualification-listing/qualification-listing-fees/

which means 8k(adopter member: product listing fee) + 2.5k(declaration/listing fee - IIP)?

Thanks, your guidance will be highly appreciated.

  • Thank you. Do we need to do the RF or any other testing (as a part of certification process) if we use your bluetooth module in our circuit? We used your schematic as a reference and its mostly the same, maybe just a GPIO might be used for additional purpose, mostly connected to other microcontroller.

I'm confused. Are you using the Fanstel BM832 which already is certified:

    • FCC ID: X8WBM832

    • IC (Industrial Canada) ID: 4100A-BM832

    • Europe: Certified

    • Japan TELEC: 201-180924

    • Australia: Certified

    • QDID: 97989.

Please clarify what schematics you are using and what you mean with "your Bluetooth module". If you are using the Fanstel BM832 module, then you will not need extra certifications which is the advantage of using these modules.

    Thanks!
    Kind regards,
    Øyvind
