Out of the box failure

Dear Nordic,

just got my Thingy:91 out of the box and followed the instruction.

Very surprised that the device could not connect (blue led flashing slowly every 5sec). I'm in Geneva Switzerland about 500m from the next Swisscom 4G antenna.

What should I do now?

This is very unpleasant as the presentation showed something "so easy to evaluate".

Now I guess I have to buy a special SIM card from Swisscom and be only inside the city-center?

Thanks in advance for your support

  • Hello Oyvind,

Yes I sent an email to Swisscom M.Bertling) but no reply so far.

I will try update via serial but I need the hex file. Where can I download it?

    thanks in advance

    Ivan

  • Hi Ivan,

I've forwarded your case to our modem team. Looks like there might be an issue with iBasis and SwissCom network. Awaiting confirmation.

    Kind regards,
    Øyvind

  • Hi Thanks for following.

I've been busy on meeting whole day. I'll try to upgrade firmware tomorrow.

How can we change APN in the device? If I want to use another SIM...

    Thanks in advance

APN can be configured in modem using the AT command AT+CGDCONT. But please wait until instructed to do so.

    Kind regards,
    Øyvind
