Problem building Thread example with DeviceFamilyPack 27.0

I am trying to build one of the Thread examples.

nRF5_SDK_for_Thread_and_Zigbee_v4.0.0_dc7186b\examples\thread\simple_coap_client\pca10056

Keil uVusion V5.15

When I open the project, it asked for nRF DeviceFamilyPack 27.0.  I clocked "install" but the package instal failed.

I did a package update, which installed 8.29 "withBSD licanse", but the code still would not build.  Plus the RTE editing page would not let me replace 27.0 with 29.0 (29.0 showed up under a different heading).  I can collect screenshots of this but I would have to reinstall 8.29 (see below)

I found in devzone that 27.0 comes in the SDK as an installer. When I run the installer I get  an error about the license:

I assumed this was about the 8.29 since it looked different than the other packages in the package manager.  I uninstalled/deleted 8.29 but it remains in the package manager as a potential update

Please let me know hwo I can build this example with either 8.27 or 8.29

Hi,

You are using Keil 5, which is why the Keil 4 MDK installers give you errors. You should use the "Pack" version of the MDK.

You can try the suggestions in this answer.

Please clarify if we should use 8.27 specifically or if we can use the latest (8.30.2).  The examples in nRF5_SDK_for_Thread_and_Zigbee_v4.0.0_dc7186b all seem to use 8.27 but since this is a new project, I'd like to use the latest.

For Keil, it seems that you should stick with 8.27 for now.
