Use nRF Connect SDK 1.1 with modem firmware mfw_nrf9160_1.1.1?

Hi,

Is it possible to use the modem firmware mfw_nrf9160_1.1.1 (delivered with nRF Connect SDK 1.2) with nRF Connect SDK 1.1?

We will move to nRF Connect SDK 1.2, but it will take some time. So we would like to benefit from modem improvments before that.

Hi Björn,

Modem firmware v1.1.1 should be possible to use with NCS v1.1.0.

(Since v1.1.1 is a "bugfix release" --> explained here.)

However, we recommend modem firmware v1.1.1 with NCS v1.2.0

I tested modem firmware v1.1.1 with SDK 1.0 but there were occasional faults that were not present with v1.1.0.  After "upgrading"  to SDK 1.20 there have been numerous problems, including API changes and my application no longer runs.

If you do not immediately require v1.1.1 then is better to wait for the bug fixes.
