New workstation, and suddenly new created DFU zip files are not selectable in nrf Toolbox (it's ok in nRF Connect)

Hey,

I am working on S130, nRF51, been working for a long time with DFU and it was fine both using nRF Connect and nRF Toolbox

Lately I changed my workstation and so installed all the environment again,

Suddenly newly generated zip files are not not selectable in nrf Toolbox (it is working just fine in nRF Connect) 

I have seen this discussion here focusing on problems with mobile operating systems.

But the problem is obviously something that has changed in my PC workstation environment and this also happened with 2 different mobile devices I use.

I tried to go back to earlier versions :

python nrfutil version 5.1.0 &

nRF5x-Command-Line-Tools - nRF5x-Command-Line-Tools_9_7_3_Installer

But the problem persists...

It's a bit surprising that you can import it to nRF connect but not nRF toolbox. Is this on Android or iOS? And have you tried to make any comparison between the zip file generated by the new and old system (eg same file name length, no special characters,.)?

I have compared the alleged same files created with the old workstation and the new, with win merge, and could not find any difference.

I was also surprised that it did work with nRC Connect, it is also working with our own mobile app.

However I do need the nRF Toolbox as well for my development needs, and I also need to know what is the reason for this difference,

I am working on Android.

Hi, one of our Android developers was able to confirm that there *should* not be any difference with the way files are imported in nRF toolbox and nRF connect. Are you using the native file selector or a third-party app when you try to import the file?

There is definitely a difference, I did a whole DFU process with nRF Connect, but could not even start a process with Toolbox, the file selector visually look the same to me, How would I know if they are actually different? How can I import the file differently?

Update - the problem is probably not the nrfutil tools or any .zip generation tools that I have, because now I see that just adding new files to the drive, even ones that were generated before that are creating the same problem. also I tried with a third workstation, and the problem persists. so basically it's like any new file I am adding to the drive (I actually tried from 2 different google drives as well) has this issue.

Hey Vidar,

I installed both Total commander and ASTRO as the article you linked to recommended, but when I open nRF Toolbox explorer doesn't give me any options to select other explorers.

I found out that downloading a file that was uploaded with the new workstation, to the old one, and then re-uploading it (from the old workstation) makes it selectable again

This is how the different files looks from different explorers, 30051f.zip is not selectable, 30051h_oldpc.zip is selectable. 

Any more insights will be very much appreciated
