The out-of-box configuration of Thingy 52 has a 89dB, 8 ohm, 0.7W speaker.
Can I replace that with a much louder speaker such as 4W or 5W one 4 ohm or 8 ohm?

Sure, you can. But it won't be louder. You need an amplifier to increase the volume.

I'm using the Thingy52 circuit in some other projects, and the built-in speaker is not loud enough for my application. I'm looking for an amplifier that can be connected to the Thingy52 to increase the volume of the speaker. Can you recommend an amplifier that is compatible with the Thingy52?
