NRF52832 Bluetooth connecting with all mobile phones and tablets except Samsung Galaxy 10.1 LTE tablet!

Hello Folks,

We are facing an issue in the NRF52832 Bluetooth connection of our self fabricated PCBs. The PCB designs were based on the Sparkfun NRF52832 dev board designs (almost exact), as provided in the link below:

www.sparkfun.com/.../13990

Our PCB’s Bluetooth is reliably connecting with all android and iOS mobile phone bluetooths and even with a Mi tablet‘S Bluetooth device.

We collected the data from our mobile phone (NRF Connect app) and tested it and the data was clean and reliable.

However, the PCB’s Bluetooth is somehow not connecting with the Samsung tablet. The Samsung tablet model is Galaxy A, 10.1 inch LTE.

The Bluetooth UUID is not even popping up on NRF Connect or the Samsung tablet’s “SETTINGS-> BLUETOOTH” screen.

At the same time, NRF’s official DK and Sparkfun’s original NRF52832 dev board are connecting and sending data to the same Samsung tablet without any issues.

Request help from a subject matter expert on this please.

  • Hi

It seems very strange that the tablet is able to connect to other devices, but not your custom board, and that the custom board is able to connect to any other device except this tablet. First off, I suggest trying to delete bonding information on both devices. On the nRF side, you can do this with the nrfjprog --eraseall and flash the application onto the board again.

It might also be that the network settings on this tablet is in a bad state, and you can try to reset the network settings on your device. Google should be able to tell you how if you're not sure how to do this on that specific device.

    Best regards,

    Simon
