High Drive GPIO

Hello ,

i am using nRF52810 and we connect 6 Mohm resister in series with mosfet gate can nRF52810 drive this pin with low current (500nA) ?

thank you

  • I believe with 6MOhm, resistor will cause so large voltage drop that it won't be enough to turn-on the MOSFET, e.i. gate voltage will be very low. Plus, if I am not mistaken, there should be no current draw except for gate-to-source leakage current which in MOSFET that I use is about 100nA. The main current draw will be when the MOSFET is changing states (on-off) because gate acts as a capacitor, which in turn will be charged and discharged.
