17.0.0 to 17.0.2 linker hell

Hi,

Had a project working and compiling beautifully, all ready to go, last thing to do just upgrade the SDK from 17.0.0 to 17.0.2 and the s132 7.2.0

So I change the SDK path, fix the RAM1 SES flash placement issues, and compile...

now i have a horrible linker error during "Generating linker script"

cannot find run section .log_dynamic_data_run referenced in log_dynamic_data

1> Generating linker script ‘BTTrigger.ld’
1> error: cannot find run section .log_dynamic_data_run referenced in log_dynamic_data
Build failed

even if I change back to 17.0.0 I now still have this linker error

what could have happened? anyone know the cause? i have the latest flash placement file i believe, using the one from the blinky project in the examples

Hi,

To try replicate the linker error I moved the ble_app_template example from SDK 17.0.0 to 17.0.2, then renamed the RAM segment as instructed by the release notes, but I didn't get any build errors. So I'm not sure what the problem could be. Maybe you have tried it already, but can you try to delete the build directory before you rebuild to make sure it's a complete re-build?
