thingy:91 can't program

Hi, I just got my Thingy:91 and I'm trying to run through the getting started guide. On the nRF Connector v3.6.0 app, it doesn't change from "no devices available" to "select device". I hold down SW3 while powering on. When I don't hold SW3, the LEDs turn on and when I do hold SW3, the LEDs don't turn on, so it seems SW3 does make a difference. A window also pops up showing the contents of the USB drive, and I'm able to open and read the files, so it seems the USB connection is working (Config, README, etc.). The SIM card is in.

Any ideas? Thanks.

  • Hi eyss5,

Which app in nRF Connect for Desktop are you testing?

If you hold down the SW3 while powering the device ON (Setting the device in Serial boot mode) it is not seen in the "Programmer app"?

What operating system do you have?

    [ey] Programmer, v1.4.7

[ey] Correct, but either with SW3 pressed or not, when I turn on the Thingy91, the USB window pops up and i can open the files correctly ("Zephyr USB")

What operating system do you have?

[ey] Win 8.1 64bit. Pretty old laptop, but I've been using it to do nRF52 development with SES/power profiler/etc. and I haven't run into any issues. Is there an incompatibility here?

    Thanks for the response.
