FOTA_V2 update problem

Hello,

I am trying to perform a FOTA update from nrfCloud to a Thiny:91 device, but I notice that a mansage appears forcing me to update to FOTA_V2. The problem is that I do not have access to the devices because they are installed far from my location performing tests and I need to be able to perform FOTA_V1 updates until I can physically access them and update FOTA_V2.

Is there any option to continue using FOTA_V1 from nrfCloud?

I think it is a very uncomfortable situation for many users like me, especially if every time the FOTA version is updated, the same thing will happen.

I understand that the ideal is to configure the use of your own FOTA system, but I am currently evaluating the features of NORDIC devices and I did not want to focus on that development.

We aware of the issue with nRF Cloud and FOTA_V2. I have an ongoing internal ticket regarding this issue. Will get back to you within next week with an answer.

Hello Raquel, 

It's a feature update that our Cloud team has introduced. This is mostly "under the hood", but some FW updates are needed. The PR introduced is merged with the master branch, unfortunately I do not have the PR number yet. 

The cloud team also answers:
"We regret that La Siesta Technologies have been adversely impacted, but nRF Cloud is still in a "pre-commercial" phase and evolving rapidly. We don't offer an SLA or any guarantees. Although this will eventually change, it's a free "dev platform" that comes with certain risks if trying to use it for any critical business operations."


Unfortunately, I do not have any other answers at this moment. I strongly recommend contacting your RSM for more information.
