nrf9160 DK EPS Registeration

Hi to everyone,

I am having trouble establishing a network connection with NRF9160 Dk. I use a local SIM and according to the information I got from the provider, there is no problem with my card but my device is "undefined" in the network. I also did not manage to establish a connection with iBASIS too.

When I received the development card, I firsty full erase the chip via nRFConnect Programmer and then upload asset tracker application...

I read such an info:

"If you carelessly erase the entire flash inside the nRF91, you would lose the key that cause failure to link to the network."

  • It looks like both devices are finding the same one cell with TAC 1600 and CI: 004E5264 for NB-IoT, which you say is Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S? Have you gotten this confirmed?

    If Turkcell provided you with the SIM you are using, you should talk to them. Perhaps you have the wrong subscription, or the SIM card only supports LTE-M, while the cell is NB-IoT, so the attachment request gets rejected.

    Have you confirmed with the network provider that the SIM cards you are using support NB-IoT?

    This might not be an issue, but I see both devices have an old MFW version. I recommend you upgrade to MFW version 1.2.3 on both of them. Have you updated to the latest available application firmware? If not, I recommend you do that as well. 

    If you are able to take a modem trace when the device is trying to connect, please do that and send me the file. This will help speed up the debugging process.
