Chip reboot via BLE command

Hi. 

I am testing a wearable device based on nRF52832 and it does not have a reboot button. 

Sometimes the device gets stuck and does not appear on Bluetooth scans. Rebooting the device fixes that temporarily. however, it does not have a reset button so is there a way I can reset the chip by sending a BLE command? I'm already sending various sensor related commands via BLE.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi Usman, 

If you are using BLE Interactive Command Line Interface Example, I don't see the command which can reset the device. However, I think you can use the nRF-Command-Line-Tools with the command:

>nrfjprog --reset

Hi Amanda.

I am sending strings to my chip via BLE and then comparing them using a couple of switch/case statements.

So ideally I just want a command through which the chip can reboot itself, and BLE would just trigger it.

You can use NVIC_SystemReset(); Take a look at how it is used in the example.
